Ava and Najee discuss navigating friendships as an adult and what it means to be a good friend in your 30’s. Spoiler alert: Friendships are difficult and take caps lock WORK. The hosts discuss how major life events like marriages and kids can impact friendships. Ava’s cool with being Auntie Ava, but thinks it sucks to only see friends twice a year. According to Najee, it’s acceptable to pull back from a friendship for three reasons and three reasons only, and shares how to deal with the feeling of being on the back burner – it’s not personal, or is it? Meeting new friends as an adult can be tricky, but luckily this duo has found success in meeting friends through shared interests like work, self-development programs, and the internet. Last but not least, they reflect on how they can be better friends, and how others can be better friends to them. It’s time for the first MORE travel review episode! Up first: Minneapolis Minnesota, which is Ava’s hometown and a great place to visit June through October. The co-hosts reunite for the first time in ages and were booked and busy all weekend with a brand collaboration with MOA Style, a boujee shopping day and overnight stay at Mall of America, a photoshoot for the podcast, and more. Ava hates shopping but loves having a personal stylist, and Najee’s perfect start to the day is with a strong cocktail because he likes to taste his liquor and it’s always 5 o’clock somewhere. The duo ate their way through the city of Minneapolis thanks to Ava’s restaurant picking superpower, explored the lakes which inspired Najee to add two uniquely named dogs to his manifestation list, and ended the weekend with some delicious icing on the cake, literally. Which cities should they review next?

This week Ava and Najee dive into personal branding. What’s a personal brand? It’s everything and nothing at the same time. They reflect on their own chapters of change including the process of identity selection and expression. It seems like so many people are triggered by change, but remember that evolution is natural. When in doubt, they look to Ariana Grande, the queen of new eras, to remind them that if she can do it, so can they! Change can be confusing but that’s okay. Don’t be afraid to confuse people, babes. Ava’s in the process of moving so she’s a bit off her game, and Najee just came back from a trip to Texas which was unfortunately not his vibe, no offense to Texans.

Ava and Najee sit down to share how a flash of intuition and a DM prompted MORE. This podcast was not on Najee’s to-do list, but Ava’s invitation was so persuasive that he couldn’t resist. Unbeknown to them, this duo was destined to podcast. The millennials reflect on how they met on a conference call (Zoom didn’t exist yet) nearly 10 years ago, including first impressions of one another. The bottom line was that Ava is in charge of the girls, and that Najee is blessed in the realms of verbal and written communications. The hosts talk about what manifestation means to them, their goals for the show and what they desire to impart on listeners, before attempting to play the world’s best song: A Little Bit Alexis by Annie Murphy on-air which ends up being a tech flop but adds character. This is their first episode so go easy on them. Oh, and energy doesn’t lie.
