Beneath all the excitement, charisma and dour strong attraction to them, narcissists are essentially bullies. Living without a developed conscience they bulldoze through our feelings to get what they want. 

The narcissistic spouse causes sustained oxidative stress to their spouses. Over time the accumulation of your emotional and psychological duress can cause health issues including chronic insomnia, gastrointestinal disorders, headaches, fatigue, depression, anxiety. 

Many narcissists are like volcanos--always in a state of endless blowing rages. This wears you down and erodes the quality of your days.
