When Nathan Borg became frustrated with the lack of characters on television who accurately portrayed his disability, he called Channel 10 and suggested a completely new character. Nathan, who is deaf and uses a cochlear implant, now plays Curtis on 'Neighbours,' Australia's longest-running soap opera.
