Candy wrappers were found in a neighbor's barn. A hair clip, pencil, and other belongings were also located amongst the mud after a rainstorm. There was an unknown nightgown, and most bizarre - a picture of a still unidentified little girl.

In Shelby, NC, in 2000, nine year old Asha Degree was a typical little girl. She had a supportive family, enjoyed basketball, and had many friends. After a weekend that included a sleepover and a ball game, it was time to get back into the weekly routine. But on Valentine's Day morning, in the before-school rush, her mother had a startling surprise. Little Asha was not in her bed. Chaos ensued, including one of the largest search efforts to date in this area. Now, nearly 24 years later, her family continues to demand answers in the disappearance of "Shelby's Sweetheart." Bill and Peggy Stephenson were a happily married couple of over fifty years. They attended their local church. Peggy played the organ, Bill organized fellowship for truckers, and in May of 2011, they were looking forward to attending their granddaughter's graduation party. But someone had other plans. On May 29, 2011, Bill and Peggy were found slaughtered in their own home - but the tragedy doesn't end there. Their bodies were manipulated, posed, and the entire house set as a macabre stage. Despite DNA being left at the scene, the case remains unsolved to this day. And now we have a potential link to the DELPHI MURDERS. Join Andrea Up Late as she dives into this mystery. One cool December afternoon, her boyfriend found her lifeless body stabbed and bludgeoned to death on her living room floor. Police soon brought him in for questioning, and it wasn't long before he was charged with her murder. Ultimately, he was not convicted. But what about the felon that had a history of assault on women...who happened to be her neighbor? What about the condom wrapper or the bottle of carpet cleaner?

The murder investigation uncovered many other secrets. What had her deceased father done when she was a child? Or for what possible reason would her step father erase the data on her phone?

But the relationship abruptly ended, and Omaima found herself alone in a new country, with broken English and broken spirits. She soon began to use the company of men as her way of surviving, aided in part by her good looks and "exotic" nature. But on Thanksgiving day of 1991, Omaima made a choice that will live on in infamy. After being remarried, Omaima ended this relationship on no uncertain terms. She killed, cut, and cooked her husband...but did she eat him??

In May of 2002, technology was booming, Raleigh, NC, was a hub, and Stephanie Bennett was going places. She had just graduated college and was on track pursuing a top-notch career after securing an esteemed job at IBM. While she was developing the love of her career, she was also developing the future with the love of her life. But one man tragically ended it all, just as it was unfolding. Drew Planten was the unknown boogie man of the apartment complex Stephanie lived in, along with her two friends. This case was solved, but the way it was solved is most intriguing. In Phoenix, Arizona, in 1997, a bizarre incident occurred. Scott and Yarmila Falater were busy raising their two children, both working full time, and attending church. Scott was under high demand at his job as an engineer for Motorola, but all accounts point toward a very happy family. On the evening of January 17, a neighbor was awoken by noises in the Falater's back yard. A glance out the window provided horror. Scott was holding his wife's head under the water of their pool. Scott never denies killing his wife, but he has no recollection of it either. His defense? Sleepwalking.

In this part 2, we re-explore the murders of Susan, Becky, Grace, and Benjamin Hendricks. The 30 year old mother and her three children were violently murdered - with an axe and a butcher knife. While the killer would have undoubtedly been bloodied beyond comprehension, the scene was remarkably clean. Where, though, was David Hendricks, the husband and father to this slaughtered family? We know he went on a business trip...but was it before or after they were killed? He was convicted, it was also overturned. In this episode, I am joined by retired homicide Lieutenant, @BCSanders, and we discuss if there was ever proof of murder beyond a reasonable doubt, regardless of which way you may lean in the court of public opinion.
