Hey there everyone, it's Tony here from the Flying RuNR, and welcome to Out and Back. Out and Back is the turnaround point for your weekly running journey. Now, not by plan or design, but we have had a very light week of training just five weeks out from the New York City Marathon.
While disrupted training weeks can be frustrating, there are also benefits in them. Sometimes, well, all the time, you've really got to look for the benefits and not waste time and energy on the frustrations. Since August 2022, we've seemingly been in a constant training block, Sharon and I. Since then, we've run seven marathons, five of them being World Majors.
Including travel, we've constantly been on the go. So having a rest week, I'm not necessarily worried about the stamina to complete our next marathon. In fact, it may be exactly what we need. On this episode I share three benefits of having a lighter training week five weeks out from running a marathon:
