Join Tony from The Flying RuNR as he shares tips to keep your running motivation high during the busy holiday season. Discover how to set fun goals, participate in virtual challenges, and enjoy themed runs with friends. Reflect on your achievements and start planning for an exciting new year!

As we near the conclusion of 2024, it's remarkable to reflect on the year's journey. Sharon and I eagerly anticipated earning the prestigious six-star medal in Tokyo, a milestone we reached in March. Despite a calf setback, I tackled the Gold Coast Marathon in July, and together, we celebrated with a victorious run at the New York Marathon in November.

Now, as December unfolds, we're embracing a lighter schedule, ensuring we maintain a strong foundation amidst the holiday chaos. πŸŽ„ The holiday season can be hectic, but it's vital to keep the love for running alive. With no major races in December and January, holiday challenges like the Big Kahuna Challenge, linked with the Honolulu Marathon, provide motivation and structure.

Setting holiday goals and participating in themed runs, such as Santa runs or Thanksgiving Turkey trots, injects fun and excitement into your routine. Engaging in parkruns on Christmas Day offers another opportunity to stay active and inspired. 🎢 While maintaining consistency is important, it's equally crucial to ease the intensity and focus on maintenance rather than pursuing ambitious goals.

Shorter, enjoyable workouts fit seamlessly into busy schedules, allowing you to relish running without additional stress. Running with family and friends during holiday gatherings fosters cherished memories, and incorporating festive music into your playlist enhances the holiday atmosphere. Celebrating achievements and treating yourself to small rewards can elevate motivation.
