Founder and creative Maricel Sison encourages women of color to move past their fear, take risks and embrace their unique journey as Principal and Marketing Director at California's premier DJ school, the Beat Junkie Institute of Sound and founder of Ladies of Sound LA, the official womxn’s division of the Beat Junkie Institute of Sound.
A first-generation Filipino, Maricel’s creative journey began as a photographer with her playing a major role in documenting Los Angeles’ underground music scene for over 15 years. And her experience thus far has elevated her into leadership roles at one of the most sought after DJ schools in the United States, within her own company, Ladies of Sound, and in future business development projects. Today Maricel executes from a place of community, and firmly believes that there is room for all of us to grow to our full potential.
