We're all guilty of it. But this seemingly very little thing could be doing more harm than good and everyone with dyslexia should stop doing it now.
What am I talking about?
Well... in this week's episode I am discussing why people with dyslexia should stop using little jokes about our challenges with dyslexia as a defence mechanism to hide our insecurities.
This is what I use to do until I realised that at each catch-up or appraisal with my manager, they would bring it up as a negative.
What I know now and share with everyone is to stop covering up little challenges or mistakes with little 'off-the-cuff' jokes and focus on the positives and strengths of dyslexia.
This way, you will start to build confidence, but your managers or boss will also notice the strengths more than the challenges.
Key topics:
