A customer takes down a shoplifter and his accomplice at an Alameda Walgreens. Following warnings of preparatory activity identified by US intelligence that suggests Russian plans of a cyberattack, President Biden issued a warning to Americans, calling it their "patriotic duty" to prepare their technological defense.

    A moment on vinyl. A man was rescued from a storm drain the diameter of a large pizza after a man walking to a Grocery Outlet overheard his cries for help. It's suspected that he was there for 2 days. After multiple shootings amongst Spring Break crowds in Miami Beach, the city has declared a state of emergency and law enforcement has instituted a curfew in an effort to curb violence. A home in El Sobrante, CA known for displaying political material across the street from a private K-12 Christian school is now displaying upside down American flags painted with swastikas. Staff at the school are using it as a teachable moment on First Amendment rights.

    Kicking it off with the Buzz Question. A shopper at the 7-11 at Shaw and Golden State discovered a sophisticated false installed over the Point-of-Sale device that allowed card information and pins to be recorded. Reedley Police are looking for the thieves responsible for card skimmers and cameras installed at the outdoor ATMs of the Bank of America. According to Ukrainian intelligence, Russian troops only have about 3 days' worth of food, fuel and ammunition. When the invasion began on 2/23, experts say Putin expected to take the country in 10 days. Now Russian losses are calculated at between 10-15k dead soldiers.

    The Senate confirmation for Biden's Supreme Court pick, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, has commenced. Justice Clarence Thomas was hospitalized over the weekend for a non-COVID flu-like infection. While he's not in court for Supreme Court oral arguments, he will "participate in consideration and decision of the cases on the basis of the briefs and the transcripts of oral argument." The party planning for America's 250th birthday is already a mess, with allegations of "featherbedding, favoritism and misappropriation of taxpayer funds." Plus, the ideas so far are terrible. A man's plan to propose outside of Disney's California Adventure was busted when he was stopped and escorted off the property by staff. Some think it's because his balloons were considered a prohibited item. No word on if he got a yes.

    As fallout from a massive fight at Fresno High continues, a 16-year-old has started a student led organization called "United Safety Protect" to create communication and accountability with administration. David Beckham, a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 2005, gave control of his 71.6m Instagram followers to a neonatal doctor in Ukraine's second largest city so that she may share firsthand experiences of her and her staff trying to save babies during the Russian invasion. Beckham has also started a fund to help with UNICEF humanitarian efforts. In the race for Kings Co. District Attorney, a former prosecutor has added her name to the ballot for June 7th. Sarah Hacker has the support of the county's three term Sheriff.

Four people in Madera Co, 3 of whom were unvaccinated, have tested positive. After taggers used a Super Soaker to tag the side of a building adjacent to the old Gottschalks downtown, the city isn't quite sure how to get rid of the eyesore due to its location. Two Harvard students created a website connecting Ukrainian refugees to host families around the world willing to house them. Within one week of its launch, over 4000 potential host homes had posted availability.
