PHLY Philadelphia Eagles Podcast

Loaded show in the middle of this pre-draft week as Howie Roseman and Nick Sirianni addressed the media for their annual pre-draft press conference, which included some off-putting defensiveness about the Haason Reddick trade. An interesting ESPN story lifts the veil on the Jeffrey Lurie’s flirtation with Bill Belichick last offseason. And it’s time to look at the draft class of running backs in case the Eagles are searching for a Saquon Barkley backup.

Zach Berman and Bo Wulf discuss it all as the draft creeps ever closer.

Our attention turns to the safety position, where the NFL Draft class seems to lack an obvious first-round talent. But with two second-round picks, the Eagles could be interested in the likes of Georgia’s Javon Bullard, Washington State’s Jaden Hicks, Minnesota’s Tyler Nubin and Miami’s Kamren Kinchens.

Devin Jackson of The Philadelphia Inquirer joins Zach Berman and Bo Wulf to discuss the safety prospects who might fit in a Vic Fangio defense.

The Eagles started the week off with some morning news Monday morning, announcing they had agreed to terms on what amounts to a four-year deal with wide receiver DeVonta Smith that will eventually pay him $25 million per year. That’s the same per-year average as Smith’s teammate A.J. Brown.

Zach Berman and Bo Wulf unpack the news before also doing their best to approximate the Eagles’ draft board ahead of next week’s NFL Draft.

The Eagles could absolutely use another weapon in the passing game alongside A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. Would a surprise first-round pick on someone like LSU’s Brian Thomas Jr. make sense? What about the options on day 2? Princeton wide receivers coach Brian Flinn joins the show to break down the prospects who might make sense and why there’s a receiver in the class he likes more than Marvin Harrison Jr.

Plus, the professor Deniz Selman returns to give his thoughts on the Eagles’ offseason thus far and what his big picture hopes are for the Eagles in the draft.

We know finding an eventual Lane Johnson replacement is on the Eagles’ to-do list, but they also don’t have a right guard starter set in stone for 2024. Could that be a surprise use of a first-round pick? What about the middle- and late-round options for Jeff Stoutland?

Brandon Thorn is our favorite offensive line expert and he joins Bo and Zach to discuss the players you need to know.

We’ve had the Brock Bowers conversation, but would Texas’ Ja’Tavion Sanders make more sense for the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round of the NFL Draft? What about the options on day three for a team looking for a functional No. 2 tight end behind Dallas Goedert?

Plus, Matt Quinn of Mt. Joy joins the show to talk about the Zach Ertz Foundation concert he’s performing on Friday and his true sickodom.

We know Howie Roseman cares about adding pass rushers at the top of the NFL Draft. With Haason Reddick gone, will that be on the table again? Does Penn State’s Chop Robinson make sense in the second half of round one? Is Laiatu Latu too much of an injury risk?

Diante Lee joins Zach and Bo to talk about this year’s prospects on the edge and if they make sense for Vic Fangio’s defense.

With players like Taliese Fuaga, Tyler Guyton, Amarius Mims and J.C. Latham possibly available for the Eagles at No. 22, can they afford not to take advantage of a loaded offensive tackle class? Or should they focus instead on a player who has a more immediate path to playing time?

Fran Duffy of [PhiladelphiaEagles.](http://PhiladelphiaEagles.com)com and the Eagle Eye in the Sky podcast joins Zach and Bo for an overview of the tackle position ahead of this month’s NFL Draft.

Landon Dickerson and Jordan Mailata do everything together, including sign extensions, it turns out. The Eagles reworked Mailata’s contract Thursday to make sure their biggest player-development success story stays in Philadelphia for the foreseeable future. What does that mean for the future of the O-line, both in the short and long term?

Zach Berman and Bo Wulf discuss Mailata’s extension and welcome back NFL Network’s Brian Baldinger, who touches on the line, the Eagles’ interesting offseason moves in free agency and some other options for the Eagles at No. 22.

Who would make Howie Roseman sprint up the proverbial steps of the NFL Draft’s picking order? In a deep class of offensive linemen, is there someone worth giving up serious capital for? Is Alabama’s Terrion Arnold the cornerback of choice? Would his teammate Dallas Turner move the needle for a team that values pass rusher over all else?

Zach Berman and Bo Wulf discuss the possibilities and outline why some players would or would not make sense.
