In my opinion, we are in Phase 3 of the evolution of the Sports Chiropractor. There are many exciting aspects of this new generation of Sports Chiropractors, but also some concerns.
In this episode, I interview Dr. Alan Sokoloff, a Sports Chiropractor who has been on the leading edge of the profession for many years and has built a great and sustaining practice in addition to his work with professional sports teams.
We have a wide-ranging conversation that includes the evolution of the Sports Chiropractor, how to position yourself as an expert in your community, considerations when working with teams, and how to have longevity in this wonderful career.
Dr. Sokoloff was selected as Maryland’s “Chiropractor of the Year 2001-2” and the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physician’s Sports Chiropractor of the Year 2006. He holds a post-graduate degree as a Diplomat of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians. He has been a member of the University of Maryland Sports Medicine Team since 1991. He served a residency at the United States Olympic Training Center, summer of 1997 and was selected to the medical team for the United States at the 1998 Goodwill Games. Dr. Sokoloff was appointed to the USA Olympic Medical Team for the 1999 Pan Am Games in Winnipeg, Canada.
