Robbie and Veda are back in position this week joined by two special guests.

Dr Ralph Hurley O'Dwyer is a public health doctor working for the HSE. Ralph has a background in infectious diseases and global health with a special interest in HIV and minority health. As a gay man, he is passionate about improving LGBTQ+ health and has been involved in queer advocacy both in Ireland and internationally. He leads the CHEMSI study, the first national survey on chemsex in Ireland."

Graham Ryall, Senior Addiction Practitioner, Rialto Community Drug Team, Dublin, has thirty years' experience working within the context of what he refers to as "Substance Use, Addiction & Self-medicating.” Graham says that these are all very different and separate themes. Graham has a M.Sc in Drug & Alcohol Policy and a Degree in Addiction Counselling with the majority of his work over the past eleven years primarily focused upon the Club Drugs, Chems and Chemsex scene.

Veda and Robbie decided to hand the mic to tribe member Luis Noguera Benitez to host the pozcast this week. Luis is an Irish Venezuelan actor, journalist and activist whose focus is fighting HIV stigma. 

His guests this week are Maho and Avatar both from Venezuela. Avatar Guille is originally from Caracas and recently celebrated 10 years living in Ireland. For almost 4 years, Avatar lived in Direct Provision here but has set up a big life here since. Not only has he studied at IADT in Dun Loghaire but he has also performed all over the country including at The Gate Theatre, The Everyman in Cork, Electric Picnic andMother Block Party. 

Maho is a queer journalist and founder of Moh flowers art and design in Dublin. Maho is also a mother and says they care deeply about social and political activism, freedom and democracy.

In our final episode for 2025, we were thrilled to talk to Jaime Luna and Phillipe Lutterbeck about their HIV journeys. Phillipe is an activist living in Dublin and Jaime is a chemist and HIV activist from Panama living in Ireland for the last 4 years. Jaime advocates for the recognition of human rights, access to treatment and zero discrimination for people living with HIV. Both our guests are excited to now be members of the Poz Vibe Tribe.

Out of the Shadows is a docmentary about immigrants living with HIV in Ireland and in this part 2, we spoke to two more incredible humans and friends of the show.

Luis Noguera Benitez is an Irish Venezuelan artist, journalist and activist who combines different techniques to create campaigns to battle HIV stigma. Jordi Moya is a queer Catalan immigrant living in Ireland. He is also a sexual health activist fighting HIV stigma and championing trans and migrant rights, inspired by community resilience.

This week we’re talking to two incredible humans who both share their stories of living with HIV in Out of Shadows which is about immigrants living with HIV in Ireland. 

Born in Himachal India, Pradesh Bhardwaj has been based in Ireland since 2021 and lived with HIV for 9 years. As an activist and proud member of the PozVibe Tribe, he is passionate about visibility, advocacy, and empowering communities. Pradeep Mahadeshwar (he/they) is a visual artist and LGBTQIA+ activist also from India but now based in Dublin. With a rich background in storytelling, writing, photography, illustrations, and filmmaking, Pradeep’s work delves deeply into the complexities of identity, migration, and the lived experiences of Queer People of Colour in Ireland and beyond. He is also the founder of Queer Asian Pride Ireland and the Queer Spectrum Film Festival, Pradeep has created platforms that celebrate diversity while addressing the unique challenges faced by the immigrant LGBTQIA+ community in Ireland.

The Boilerhouse in Dublin is 26 years old and in this episode we're celebrating this iconic meeting point for the LGBTQI+ comminity.

We spoke with Conor James who studied in NCI and obtained a BA Honours in Computer Science. He has also worked in the Boilerhouse for 13 years as Assistant Manager. He says he is a big believer in community especially when engaging our own fabulous one. We also chatted with Gary Ghent Macken who has worked at the Boilerhouse for 24 years. He lives in Smithfield with his husband Robert and is a proud ally of the Poz Vibe Tribe.

They shared the history of Boilerhouse and their plans for the future. They hope to continue to welcome guests for years to come and help foster a sense of community for all.

We are delighted this week to welcome David Field to the Pozverse.

David is a clinical nurse and specialist sexual health advisor working in the only publicly funded sexual health clinic specifically for gay and bi men and the trans community. He also has a masters in public health from UCC where he focused the relationship between Chemsex and mental health among gay and bi men living with HIV. David is currently completing his PhD focusing on the concept of risk in sexual health but managed to find the time to talk to us.
