Ask yourself this common question: am I chasing “happiness?”
Google, “how to be happy” and you’ll be served with 4.7 billion search results of self-help advice and tips on how to find happiness. Because with many things in our lives, we often seek quick fixes, right? And, let's face it...we're all obsessed with being happy.
Ironically though, at least in America, research shows that “America’s obsession with happiness is backfiring” according to an INC article. As we’re chasing happiness, people are becoming more miserable.
But why? Are we chasing the wrong state of being?
In this episode, we briefly discuss how chasing happiness is an illusion vs. how seeking fulfillment can lead to greater life satisfaction.

How do you define success? What do you think is holding you back in achieving all the success you want in your life?
In this month's special collaboration with Hub Dot, a global organization taking a radically different approach to human connections and stories above job titles or social status, we speak to Simon Alexander Ong, an award-winning life coach and business strategist who says success is personal. And, with the right mindset, we can all design an environment that is impossible not to succeed.
Simon tells us that first, we must define what success means to us personally without any external standards and expectations. But it's also important to understand the progress we're making along our personal path so not to commonly give up before you have a chance to experience success. Simon gets very tactical and practical with us in sharing detailed steps we can take to create the most optimal environment for success from how to identify if you're interested vs committed to your success to how to identify the right circle of people to surround yourself with and be inspired by to keep you on track for your own success.

Some coincidences are so uncanny, so striking and so captivating that they seem “meant to be”. This is synchronicity: the phenomenon of experiencing a striking and meaningful coincidence that connects our inner and outer world.
Chris Mackey, a clinical psychologist and the author of The Positive Psychology of Synchronicity, illustrates (drawing on his 40 years of experience in psychology and case studies) how synchronicity can act as a guide in our life path. We first discover the science of synchronicity and how the influential Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung was the first to explore its meaning, its connection to our human psyche and wellbeing.
Additionally, you'll learn:
2:30: What is synchronicity as coined by psychiatrist Carl Jung?
5:30: How the collective universal consciousness links us all together.
7:36: The correlation between quantum physics and synchronicity. How Jung's findings of quantum physics validates synchronicity.
15:39: What is Entanglement Theory and how it supports quantum physics, which helps us further understand synchronicity.
17:43: What is propinquity and how it's the most common experience of synchronicity.
25:22: How can we enhance our mental health and gain deeper understanding of our soul purpose, daimon, dharma with synchronicities.
33:00 Chris Mackey's fascinating synchronistic experience that led him to believe in finding his true love.
34:38: Connection between numerology and synchronicity.
41:54: How our rationalistic educational system has made us less in touch with our intuitive thinking.
46:35: The five pillars of wellbeing from positive psychology and how they help us draw meaning in our life.
52:24: Can we create more synchronicities in our life?
56:11: Chris' one piece of advice to his younger self to remind him to always live fully in the present and always on his own terms.

“This is your last chance, after this there is no turning back” - can you guess what iconic movie this phrase is from which precedes an even more iconic phrase that has since taken on so many pop culture and even political meanings as of late?
You guessed it; it’s from The Matrix! When Morpheus offers Neo the chance to take the red pill or the blue pill.
But why am I bringing up a movie that debuted 20 years ago...and on P.S. Younger Self?! Because this franchise has always been more than a brilliant sci-fi trilogy. It has revealed a lot of deeper meanings and connection to our human life from references to philosophy such as gnosticism and existentialism to spirituality and religion.
And with 2020 feeling like the year we all wished was just an illusion...I asked myself would I want to take the red pill or the blue pill....knowing every raw bit of the truth, no matter how gritty and painful it can be. To be honest...this might be a hard one to swallow...no pun intended, but when I look at how I choose to make my life decisions, I want to know I’m the creator of my own life, my own masterpiece. Rather than be living in a programmed world with beliefs and ideas indoctrinated on me. Moreover a world rife with mass consumerism and our dependency on technology which can distract us from tapping into our authenticity. How about you?
I’ll rephrase the question this way, P.S. Younger Self, would you rather free your mind or live in ignorant bliss?

Take a minute and ask yourself, do you have any fears that are holding you back from living your authentic, most fulfilling life?
If we're honest with ourselves, we all have some fear that gets in the way of fulfilling everything we want in life. Some of the most common fears we all face are: the fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear of change and our guest, motivational and TEDx speaker and podcaster Sara Hauk says that it's also the fear of believing we can do it.
At the core of all these fears are our own limiting thoughts, which we all have control over. Sara gets really tactical with us on how she's coached and helped her clients boldly face their fears by implementing four easy, practical steps to help you achieve whatever you want in life. And again, this starts with taking control over your life choices and your own self talk.

What is your risk propensity when it comes to your finance, recreational, health, ethical and social aspect of your life? We all have unique risk propensity in these five categories. Moreover, our society and culture will create arbitrary timelines of what you should accomplish or shouldn't do at a certain age, including taking risks in life.
Today's guest, Entrepreneur and YouTuber Cinnamon McCann defies the age card in taking bold risks and is inspiring thousands of people around the world to pursue living their most fulfilling lives, particularly living abroad which many can perceive as being risky, scary and challenging. Her YouTube video titled, “Why I moved to Lisbon from the US” has now garnered more than 300K views and has sparked a new popular series called "Living Abroad" amongst a growing global community inspired by her attitude of living life to the fullest.
We speak to Cinnamon about how and why we create these timelines in our own heads that prevent us from pursuing the life we truly desire and how to overcome our own self-inflicted fears to take bold risks, at any age.
We learn:
3:35: About Cinnamon's why on leaving her ambitious corporate career in the U.S. to take a bold risk in starting a new chapter abroad at 40.
8:14: How and why we create our own made-up timelines of what success is based on external expectations and definitions of success.
11:40: Cinnamon's honest fears she faced in taking one of her biggest risks in life.
21:26: How to face your fears in taking risks if you think you're held back because of your age.
25:13: What is Risk Propensity and how it varies for each of us in taking risks in these five categories: finance, social, health & safety, ethical and recreational.
28:30: Do women have higher risk propensity in certain areas of life?
37:15: How "age milestones" are created in our own heads. And how we can ignore these timelines to take risks at any age for personal growth.
38:19: Cinnamon's one advice to her younger self to live fully in the present and always on her own terms.

P.S. Younger Self, Always Seek Answers From Within
We live in a world that is indoctrinated by our culture, society and even our family to think a certain way, to be a certain way, to create a life defined as successful based on old fashion rules of whatever success is. These systems of culture and beliefs from our external world feeds on our fears. Our fear to be ourselves. Following our inner voice. Our inner truth so we fall on our institutions to define a career path that tells us will make us the most money, garner fame, status or we look to external voices to define what roles we play in this world or we seek answers to our own greatness from everyone but ourselves.
In this episode, I share a little more about my personal experience of living in the culturescape and how I wasn't not honoring my true self. You know why? I didn’t know how to go within. I didnt know how to ask myself questions that truly matter?
Because the only answer that matters is the one that comes from you. Always you. Otherwise, you will not be honoring your true self. And the beauty of every single one of us on this planet earth is to live consciously as our authentic selves, don’t you agree?
