Rachel Entrekin is a highly accomplished ultra-marathoner specializing in 100mile and multi-day racing. Most recently, she's been dubbed the Queen of Cocodona as she became the first person to win the Cocodona 250 Mile twice, in back to back years, as well as the first female to break 70-hours in the race... by a lot. Rachel was not only the first female in this year's race, but 4th place overall in a tight race for the podium in the final miles.
In this episode, Lauren and Rachel discuss her origins in the sport - from not making the cut for her high school cross country team, to learning the ropes of road racing, and ultimately finding her talent on the trails and a love for solo long distance adventure. We talk about the lessons she's learned along the way and the value of learning through experience, as well as the deep friendships and community she's built through the sport.
