Your favorite Tinnitus Tastemakers are back with their first release of the year and last recording of last year or something... I don't even care anymore

Recorded the day after Christmas, a day I will forever ironically associate with abortion thanks to Ben Folds, the boiz (Roldy, Hans, and Eenzy) are tired from a long... 2 months of Riff Raffing and couldn't find a fuck to give if it would save their lives.  Eenzy does the intro, which is somehow like letting the drummer sing only worse, and we break into some tracks from albums released in 2021 that didn't quite make it into our top 10.  Some are fun heavy metal, some are heavy-as-fuck sludge, some are brain-ripping grindcore, and some are... in Dutch.  We fuck up transitions, laugh like fools for no good reason, talk about fellow writers IGOM and Theo behind their backs, and yeah, play a few tunes too.  I'd write more, but in the spirit of this episode, why bother?

So we may be riff-raff but we're multi-dimensional trash people. And though we all listen to an unhealthy amount of metal, we are occasionally taken by music from the lesser genres. Actually when Hans and I (Eenzy) rebooted Riff-Raff we already agreed to do this episode, because we're just totally degenerate music nerds at heart who love sharing tunes. But, much like the Roman Empire, two just wasn't enough to bring this ship down—we needed our trusty nocturnal wanderer Roldy to steel this deal. So come and explore some music where vocalists don't burn out after 5 years, a keyboard doesn't mean you're listening to some basement-dwelling dungeon synth, and people have found a way to decouple angst from pure nihilism and misanthropy. It's a whole lot of new material for a Toilet Boy to digest but, rest assured, every song on this list sucks an incredible amount of butt. We're backing up our analysis with some real world data via YouTube comments. Also the drummer from Tool got arrested for being a drunk old man lol. It's a good one.

Your fearless hosts Hans and Heidy (Eenzaamheid) show up with their A-game only to be shown up by the musical knowledge and mellifluous words of guest A Spooky Mansion!  While Heidy picks from his tried-and-true-if-a-bit-stale bucket of blackened crust, Hans shows how they're keeping metal dangerous in France these days, in spite of Varg and his lame, racist DnD knockoff.  But Spooky knocks 'em both out with one epic hit from the stoner doom pipe and a new but old school Smoke on the [Bong]Water-sounding jam.  We don't really remember what happened next, but what's the worst it could be?
