After a month of not uploading due to a tonsillectomy, your favorite podcast is back. In this episode of Real Conversations, Jacob O'Connor recaps his 100 mile ultramarathon experience. The Shippey 100 is a 100 mile race with 14,000ft of elevation ascent and some of the toughest trails in Missouri. Jacob details his setbacks, lack of training, and the race itself. He ended up completing 63.5 miles in 22 hours-- a new distance and time personal best for him (previously 50 miles and 11 hours). He will be undoubtedly be back for revenge and complete a 100 miler in 2023.

From being over weight to losing 150+ lbs to slowing building it all back in muscle, Ridge Estes is a prime example of hard work and dedication. Ridge is a D1 thrower at Wichita State University and is on course to join the USA Olympic team. He regularly eats 6,000+ calories per day, squats 685lbs x 4, has a max bench of 470lbs all while maintaining a 50 inch box jump vertical and athletic physique. We cover a lot in this episode-- you're going to want to listen to it all.

In this episode of Real Conversations, Jacob O'Connor recaps his 50 mile ultramarathon experience. About 5 weeks ago, he signed up for an Ultra, and after getting sick was only able to train for about 3 weeks. He went from essentially not running at all, to completing his first 50 miler. Prior to this, the furthest competitive race he had ever done was a 5 mile Thanksgiving Turkey Trot. He recounts in detail his training regimen, nutrition, recovery and the race experience.
