In Episode 212, I talked to Kate House all about how we can begin to prioritize ourselves without feeling guilty. And this clip from that episode.
ABOUT KATE
Hi friend, I’m Kate House! By day you can find me running around our small town of Gettysburg, PA with my two little boys as a stay-at-home mom and wife to my college sweetheart, and by night I’m the host of The Live By Design Podcast, health coach, educator, meditation enthusiast, slow-but-steady-runner, and creator of my women-focused personal growth group - The LBD Collective. It’s my purpose in life to help others release personal-growth overwhelm, get unstuck, and finally take the action to launch you in the direction of your dreams. Many of us have been raised and grown up to see those around us give themselves selfishly every day and sometimes even make themselves responsible for other's happiness. As a result, many moms feel guilty when they are putting themselves first and not others.
At one time or another, you probably felt guilty when you made yourself a priority. You know, when you want to get out of the house without your kids and have some alone time, but your kids begin to cry and beg and plead for you not to go.
Or maybe you felt it when you're playing with your kids and felt guilty about being bored to have to read that book again or help build that blog tower.
There's a way to prioritize yourself without feeling guilty. My guest today, Kate House, shows us how to do just that. Kate is a coach and the podcast host of Live by Design, where she helps women get out of overwhelm and get unstuck so that they can live by design and not by default.
In this episode, you'll learn how to prioritize self-care daily so that your mind, body, and soul are nourished, all by doing small habits and routines.

If you haven't already listened to Episode 211, with Michaela, you've got to check it out!
But before you do, I had this quick clip from the conversation. And this actual clip was actually deleted only because it didn't really fit with what was going on with the conversation we had in Episode 211.
Michaela and I had an instant connection over a TV show called Instant Mom. Instant Mom became one of my favorite shows over the summertime because it was really, really fun to watch. And it has Tia Mowry, one of my favorite actors, who I love back when she was in Sister Sister.
One thing that I've noticed is that, especially in a lot of the Disney movies, stepmoms have a bad rap. As a result, being a stepmom isn't something that we would aspire to be.
I wanted to drop this quick clip on what Mikayla had to share about Instant Mom.

In Episode 211, I had a really awesome conversation with my guest, Michaela.
There were some parts of that episode that I did have to take out. And I thought it would be awesome to share this clip from a part of the episode that was not included in the full episode.
In this quick clip. Michaela is sharing some words of encouragement for stepmoms. So, if you are a new stepmom, an aspiring stepmom, or a mom who is just curious about the stepmom life, this will be a really good one for you.

Approximately 1/3 of all weddings in America today form in stepfamilies. More and more women are becoming stepmom.
Unfortunately, the stereotypes about stepmoms aren't what many moms aspire to be—and functioning well as a stepmom is challenging and unique.
So, I contacted today's guest—Michaela Bucchianeri, to help us out. Mikayla is a clinical psychologist, speaker, and coach who blends the science of psychology and the art of stepmom eating. Mikayla explicitly helps women in this unique role to create a stepmom identity that's all their own.
Whether you're a seasoned stepmom assumed to be a stepmom or simply someone curious about the complexities of stepfamily dynamics. You're in the right place.
In this episode, Michaela talks about:
