How do you feel about your relationship with your body? It's important to recognize that we are in constant communication with our bodies, even if we're not always aware of it. What is your body saying to you? Are you listening to the intelligence and wisdom it offers? We wouldn't be cruel to a puppy that was in pain, overweight, or sick, so why do we sometimes treat our own bodies with disdain?
At first, our body whispers to us, but often we ignore it. As it gets louder, we may curse it, and when it finally breaks down, we may shame it. But it's time for a change. Let's take a step back, reframe our mindset, and start building a healthy relationship with the amazing biological machine that carries us through life and allows us to engage in physical experiences and activities.
Take a moment to stand in front of a mirror and thank your body for all that it does for you. It's truly a remarkable vehicle, and we owe it our appreciation (and perhaps an apology for not treating it better).
