Students Create Panda Cartoon in Rice Field

You probably make all kinds of pictures at school.

Sometimes you draw pictures.

Sometimes you paint.

You might even make pictures using computer programs (電腦程式).

But have you ever made pictures… by planting rice?

Students at Beitou Elementary School did this.

They used a field in Nantou County's Caotun Township.

The field is right next to their school.

First they planned out what picture they wanted to make.

Then, at the start of the month, they planted (種) the rice.

They planted two different types of rice.

One type of rice plant is green.

The other type is dark brown.

And after the rice plants grew, the picture showed!

The school does this with students every year.

Each year, they choose a different theme (主題), and different words.

This year, the students made a picture of a panda.

The panda is carrying bales (捆) of rice.

The school says the picture will stay until the end of November.

Then the rice in the field will be harvested.

Dubai to Build Giant Moon Hotel

Dubai is a city full of amazing buildings.

It's home to the Burj Khalifa, the tallest skyscraper in the world.

It's also home to The Palm, man-made islands that look like a palm tree.

Much of the city looks like a place from the future.

And very soon, Dubai will be home to another building that is "out of this world" (非常棒的、遠遠超出期待).

Dubai is getting ready to build a Moon resort (月球渡假村).

A team of builders say they want to build something that looks like a giant moon.

And it will be called "Moon".

"Moon" will be 224 meters high.

So if you put "Moon" in Taipei, it will be almost half as tall as Taipei 101.

The outside of the hotel will be made to look like the real Moon.

It will have craters (隕石坑).

And the builders say it will be much more than just a hotel.

Inside, there will be restaurants, spas, theaters, and more.

All of these places will be space-themed (太空主題).

Some will be made to look like the inside of a spaceship.

The builders say it will be very luxurious (豪華).

And for the star attraction…

The hotel will let visitors try out what it feels like to walk on the moon.

It's a simulation (模擬).

The visitors will get some astronaut training.

And they can explore a lunar colony.

渡假村最高層會有一個仿造月球表面的"月球殖民地"，讓遊客"登月"探索月球。

The builders want to get Moon ready to open in 2027.

歌手Lizzo吹奏200年水晶長笛

Lizzo Plays Crystal Flute at Concert

American musician Lizzo is known for playing flute (長笛) at her concerts.

The singer, songwriter, and rapper has been playing flute since she was a child.

And aside from being a good flute player, she has many hit songs.

But she played a very special flute at a recent concert in Washington.

The flute is around 200 years old.

And it's made of crystal (水晶)!

The flute belonged to former U.S. President James Madison.

這支長笛曾由美國前總統詹姆斯-麥迪遜擁有。

And Lizzo had to get special permission from the government to use the flute.

Government officials and police stood close by, as she played it at her concert.

She played just a few notes.

Then she gave it back to the officials.

Lizzo was very excited, and reminded her fans that history is "cool".
