When Australian Idol first graced our television screens 20 years ago, audiences fell in love with a 21 year old 'Millsy', a larrikin with blonde highlights, an eye brow piercing and an incredible voice.
In his personal life, however, Rob Mills relationship with alcohol, anxiety and the repression of his sexuality meant that life wasn't always smooth sailing.
But these days, Rob is an open book. He has a flourishing career in musical theatre, and has written a book about his life and what it means to be a man in Australia. From his problematic first film clip, to the moment that led him to throw a punch at someone (twice), and now finding love, Rob is unflinchingly honest and open.
This is Rob Mills' story.
THE END BITS:
With thanks to Rob Mills. Buy his book Putting On A Show, and see & Juliet.
