Unfortunately, we'll all remember the boom of weight loss shows in the 2000s. From the Biggest Loser to Supersize vs Superskinny, these shows harmed our relationships with our bodies and made us think that we had to crash diet. They're the epitome of diet culture and the toxic 'eat less move more' attitude. And the reality is, they usually didn't even work, and sometimes harmed people's bodies. So this week, after we rant about our own experience with weight loss shows, we chat to our friend Sarah LeBrocq, who was on a weight loss show in 2013, about her experience and how it turned her into an obesity advocate.
