Welcome to Season 2 of The Moms on Call Podcast! We hope you love our brand-new show format designed to be short, sweet and full of trusted information from pediatric experts.
This season, we are going in-depth with answers to your questions. If you have anything you want to ask, please leave us a message at 888-234-7979.
How do you make the transition from crib to bed? And how do you know when to do it?
Thank you to Erika, who lives in Kentucky, for asking about this:
So do I start preparing my son for a toddler bed by talking about it, or do we just put him in a big bed and hope for the best? I've heard a lot about bed railings, is that something you recommend? I'm nervous he's going to fall out of the bed or that he'll get out of the bed and wander around the house looking for us in the dark. Any suggestions would be super helpful.
We also had time for two bonus questions:
From Lauren in Florida: I have a 16 month old and we are having trouble with our naps. She is waking up consistently at one hour and screaming, crying, and is so mad for at least an hour. I need some help on that because it has been very stressful. Thank you.
From Deanna in Wake Forest, North Carolina: I have a three week old and we are wondering what we are supposed to do when soothing doesn't work at night or during naps. Do we just soothe for some amount of time and leave her crying and restart the timer? What do we do when she has been fed, changed, but is still crying and not falling asleep after soothing?
