We've been doing this for a while now, and of course we still always get the "What about health?" questions. So, we thought it’d be good to chat a bit more about fatness, health, and BMI. A lot of you will know this already, but it’s one of the main ways that medical professionals determine health. So you’ll often go to the GP for a medical issue and be weighed, even if it’s something irrelevant like an ear infection. It’s often the thing that’s mostly focused on in terms of improving your health, and quite often it’s even used to deny care, with cuts offs for treatment for things like infertility if you’re over a certain BMI. So we know it has a huge impact on how our health is viewed and treated. But the more we looked into it, the more we realised how backwards this system is! It was never supposed to be used like this, yet here we are, letting it have a huge impact on our self worth and quality of care. So, let's chat about it.
