  • #538 How Does a Data Powerhouse Reinvent Itself in the Age of AI, ANNIKA IN DER BEEK?
    Podcast language: German

In this episode of SAATKORN, I’m talking to Annika in der Beek, Chief People Officer at Statista. After leading People topics during hypergrowth at About You, she’s now building a global HR function from the ground up—right in the middle of massive AI disruption.

One quote that really stuck with me:

“When we leave the room, we stand 100% behind the decision—even if it’s a compromise.”

Among other things, we talked about:

🔥 Building HR from Scratch in a 1,300-Person Global Company

What it takes to create structure, standards, and alignment across regions like New York, London, Singapore, and Hamburg.

    🤝 Arguments Beat Authority

Why “I’m the CPO, so we’ll do it my way” doesn’t work—and how clarity, friction, and compromise create real commitment.

🤖 AI Is Rewriting the Business Model

How generative AI is changing Statista’s core business—and what that means for organizational design, skills, and people strategy.

At the core, this episode tackles one big question:

How do you stay relevant as a data company when AI is reshaping search behavior, business models, and customer expectations?

If you care about transformation, AI, global HR strategy, and real leadership conversations—you’ll want to listen to this one.

  • #537 Why is Employer Branding Without Culture an Illusion, CLAUDIA TATTANELLI?
    Podcast language: English

In this SAATKORN podcast episode, I’m talking to Claudia Tattanelli, founder of C-YourCulture and one of the most experienced global minds in employer branding and culture strategy. Claudia has spent almost three decades shaping the employer branding industry – from her time at Universum to building her own consultancy focused on authentic culture work. One quote that truly hit me: “If you promise something you can’t live internally, you’re doing yourself a disservice.”

Under other topics, we spoke about:

    🎯 From Attraction to Authenticity

Why classic employer branding focused too much on marketing – and why culture must be the foundation if you want to attract and retain the right people.

🧩 Purpose, Values, Culture – And Why Most Companies Mix Them Up

Why culture is not just “values on a poster” – but the real answer to how you work, and why that “how” is becoming more important than prestige.

🤖 AI, GEO & The End of Career Site Dominance

Why students no longer Google you – they prompt you. And why generative AI is becoming the new gatekeeper of employer reputation.

So here’s the core message: If your employer brand is not rooted in lived culture, AI, transparency and employee voice will expose it anyway. If you care about culture, employer branding and the real impact of AI on talent attraction – you should not miss this conversation.

  • #536 How to Win at Business with Storytelling – TERENCE BARRY on the Power of Belief
    Podcast language: English

How to Win at Business with Storytelling – Terence Barry on the Power of Belief

    German version below

Terence Barry came a long way from the automotive industry via several years doing storytelling in Hollywood and now with his own company, Brand and Story. So this podcast episode is a special one. “Ultimately business is about belief.” – so Terence Barry in our talk. Among other things, we discussed the following topics:

✅ Why storytelling is not a “nice to have” but a real business advantage

Terence explains that storytelling is not about being entertaining – it’s about persuasion. Whether you want to motivate employees, convince customers, or inspire partners: success depends on your ability to build a belief system that people truly want to commit to.

✅ AI, tech and HR-tech: why the human factor becomes even more important

We dive into the question many leaders are asking right now: will AI replace storytelling? Terence’s take is clear: AI can aggregate information, but business is driven by meaning and emotion. In a world where technology becomes more and more interchangeable, brand and story are what make the difference.

✅ The key ingredients of a strong business story: Audience, Message, Vehicle

Terence shares a simple but powerful framework: First understand your audience deeply (including their current beliefs). Then define the message you want to “plant” in their minds. And only then choose the right story format as the delivery vehicle. Storytelling, in his view, is modern business rhetoric – straight out of Aristotle.

    What surprised me

Terence drops a brilliant line: the Spice Girls were actually great philosophers. 😄 because “Tell me what you want, what you really, really want” is exactly the question every leader should ask before communicating.

    🎧 Listen now

Terence combines real corporate experience (BMW, Bentley) with Hollywood storytelling know-how in a way that’s both practical and highly entertaining:

    Was mich überrascht hat

✅ Employer branding is crucial both internally and externally

  • #532 How AI is changing Employer Branding - Podcast with m&z agency
Ricarda Rauch and Zafer Yesilgöz, m&z agency leadership team

How AI is changing Employer Branding - Podcast with m&z agency

    German version below

Ricarda Rauch and Zafer Yesilgöz share the management of the m&z agency. In this SAATKORN podcast episode, we talk about AI and employer branding.

“We deliberately didn’t start with tools – we started by analyzing every single step of our portfolio and asking: where does AI actually create real value?” - so Ricarda Rauch in our talk. Great insight: data volume is no longer the limit. In the past, full surveys or huge numbers of focus groups were often impossible because analyzing thousands of qualitative statements manually was just too much. With their AI-supported approach, m&z agency can now handle 3,500+ additional data sets easily – meaning Employer Branding strategies can become much more accurate, granular and target-group specific than ever before.

Under other things, we talked about the following topics:

✅ Employer Branding in 2026: crisis mode – but also huge opportunity

Ricarda Rauch and Zafer Yesilgöz share their honest view on the current Employer Branding market: budgets are under pressure, customers are more demanding, and the economy is challenging. But at the same time, they see massive potential for agencies and companies that rethink their approach and focus on transformation, technology and real customer value.

✅ From “classic consulting” to an AI-enabled Employer Branding Suite

Instead of simply adding a few ChatGPT prompts into their workflow, Ricarda and Zafer explain how m&z agency took a radically structured approach: they analyzed their entire agency portfolio and identified where AI can truly improve speed, quality and outcomes. The result is their Employer Branding Suite, which supports the full process from data collection to EVP development.

✅ EVP projects in 2.5 months instead of 6 – without losing quality

One of the biggest learnings: AI doesn’t replace the human part (especially not interviews, workshops and trust-building), but it can massively accelerate the most time-consuming part: data classification and analysis. Ricarda shares how they achieved up to 85% efficiency improvement in data analysis – and what that means for clients who want to move faster into rollout and visibility.

    🎧 Listen

If you want to understand what AI really means for Employer Branding work (beyond buzzwords!) – and why HR can suddenly shine internally with data-driven strategy – you should definitely listen to this episode.

    ✅ EVP-Projekte in 2,5 Monaten statt 6 – ohne Qualitätsverlust

Stepstone 2026: Why hiring needs to be rethought

    GERMAN VERSION BELOW

Stepstone CEO Sebastian Dettmers is a guest on SAATKORN. “We no longer optimize for clicks or ads, but for real hires,” said Sebastian Dettmers in our conversation. Among other things, we discussed the following topics:

✅ From ad sales to real recruiting success

Sebastian explains why the All Jobs subscription model is more than just a new price tag – and how the shift in perspective from “ad units” to “filled roles” has changed the entire mindset at The Stepstone Group.

✅ AI-native hiring: When platforms become agents

Artificial intelligence is no longer a feature, but the operating system: from smarter matching and job guidance to automated interview scheduling, recruiting is becoming radically simpler (and better).

✅ Quality beats quantity in the AI age

Why intent, authenticity, and genuine fit are becoming more important than mass applications – and why Stepstone is intensively engaged in bot detection and trust mechanisms.

    Surprising:

How AI, HR, and leadership are merging to form a hybrid organization

How AI, HR, and leadership are merging to form a hybrid organization – in conversation with Dr. Florian Zeller-Lanzl from Workday

    GERMAN VERSION BELOW

A few months ago, I heard an interesting keynote of Dr. Florian Zeller-Lanzl, Head of Solution Consulting oCIO DACH at Workday. So I really appreciate, that Florian agreed to visit SAATKORN. Let's go! “AI becomes truly relevant when it is not perceived as a tool, but as a natural part of work.” says Florian in our talk. Among other things, we discussed the following topics:

✅ AI in everyday work instead of AI for AI's sake

Why isolated tools and individual solutions are of little use – and how AI unlocks real added value when it is seamlessly integrated into the work context (keywords: user experience, chatbots, agents instead of click paths).

✅ The future of HR: less administration, more humanity

Which HR tasks will be taken over by AI agents in the future – and why empathy, creativity, resilience, and leadership will become even more important than they are today.

✅ Leading in a hybrid organization of people and AI agents

What managers need to learn when not only humans but also AI agents are “part of the organization” – and why culture, the courage to experiment, and learning spaces are crucial.

Florian's observation from everyday life: Even teenagers and people over 80 hardly ever use Google anymore – they simply “talk” to AI. Long since normal in private life, but often still with the handbrake on in a corporate context.
