The migrants arriving in Australia on regional visas move to the cities after they completed the mandatory period of stay in the regional area. However, the Federal government is in the plan to force the migrants coming in regional visa to stay in the respective regional areas. Listen to Edward Francis, migration agent at the Aust Migration and Settlement Services in Melbourne who explains the current policies in regional visa and the change in law which is under discussion. A few Malayalee migrants who came to Australia in regional visas have also shared their opinions in this regard.

Free meal scheme "Numma Oonnu" in Kochi aimed at eradicating hunger in the district with the support District administration, is now operational in most parts of Ernakulam. This project is an Ernakulam district administration initiative implemented with the support of Petronet LNG Foundation and Kerala Hotel and Restaurant Association.
