Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton says the community must step up to help authorities prevent terror attacks even though the man behind the fatal strike on Melbourne's Bourke Street last Friday was on their radar.

Ministrul de interne Peter Dutton afirma ca intreaga comunitate trebuie sa ajute autoritatile in prevenirea atacurilor teroriste, chiar daca barbatul din spatele atacului mortal de vinerea trecuta, din Bourke Street, in Melbourne, era in radarul autoritatilor australiene.

The Financial Services Royal Commission has recently focused attention on the superannuation sector, highlighting a need for more transparency for consumers as they look to the future.

Analysts say it is a welcome change of direction, with many Australians having a limited understanding of superannuation and its importance in planning for a comfortable retirement.

A report this week ranked Australia's passport as the equal-seventh most powerful in the world, based on the number of countries it grants access to.

It comes as demand for Australian citizenship reaches never-before-seen levels, with the Federal Government revealing in August close to 189,000 people were waiting for their citizenship applications to be processed.

In this digital era, many may wonder what the future is for Australia's public libraries, long seen as simply a repository for books.

But they're flourishing, perhaps surprisingly, and for those with English as a second language, they can offer pathways to education, employment and integration.

In era digitala in care ne aflam, multi se intreaba probabil, care e viitorul bibliotecilor publice in Australia, avand in vedere ca acestea sunt considerate de ceva timp doar un depozit de carti si nimic mai mult.

In mod surprinzator, bibliotecile publice continua insa sa fie la mare cautare, iar pentru cei provenind din medii non-anglo-saxone, acestea pot oferi o cale spre educatie, un loc de munca si integrare in societate.
