Australians are being urged to get vaccinated ahead of the flu season, with a particularly hostile strain expected this year.

The World Health Organisation says the Brisbane strain, named after the city where it originated, is among the most deadly forms of the virus in the world.

Australienii sunt avertizati sa se vaccineze inainte de declansarea sezonului de gripa, avand in vedere ca se asteapta probleme serioase cauzate de un virus extrem de puternic.

Organizatia Mondiala a Sanatatii afirma ca forma respectiva de virus, denumita tulpina Brisbane, dupa orasul in care a apartu prima oara, e printre cele mai ucigatoare forme din lume ale virusului.

More than half a million Austrians have signed a petition titled "Don't Smoke."

It demands that the government abandon plans to liberalise smoking laws.

The new conservative coalition recently overturned a law which would have seen smoking banned in all cafés, bars and restaurants.

Instead it wants the café owners to decide whether customers can light up.

Noua coalitie conservatoare de guvernamant, a anulat recent o lege care ar fi interzis fumatul in toate cafenelele, barurile si restaurantele din Austria.

In schimb, guvernul doreste ca proprietarii de cafenele sa decida daca sau nu clientii lor pot fuma in incinta cafenelei.
