இன்று நடைபெறும் இலங்கையின் சுதந்திர தின நிகழ்வுகள் குறித்த செய்தி மற்றும் இனப்பிரச்சினைக்கான புதிய அரசமைப்பு உருவாகப்போவதில்லை என அதிபர் சிறிசேன அறிவித்துள்ள நிலையில், புதிய அரசமைப்பை கொண்டுவருவோம் என த.தே.கூட்டமைப்பு அறிவித்துள்ளமை தொடர்பில் செய்தித் தொகுப்பை முன்வைக்கிறார் நமது இலங்கை செய்தியாளர் மதிவாணன்.

Multicultural NSW is offering fully funded scholarships for people who speak certain languages to participate in an interpreter training course at TAFE NSW.  Course graduates will be eligible to become Recognised Practicing Interpreters with the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters, and may be offered employment opportunities with Multicultural NSW.  The program is offered to people who meet the eligibility criteria and speak Assyrian, Burmese, Chaldean, Greek, Italian, Kirundi, Khmer, Kurmanji Kurdish, Maltese, Mongolian, Nepalese, Tamil, Thai, Tibetan, Tigrinya, Tongan, Pashto, Rohingya, Samoan, Somali and Vietnamese.

For questions Muhilini Duwaragan has on the scholarship, Kulasegaram Sanchayan gets answers from the Minister for Multiculture, Mr Ray Williams.

A new report has found 250,000 Australians are hospitalised every year because of  adverse reactions to the drugs they have been prescribed to get better. It is a combination of medication errors, inappropriate use and misadventure. The findings have prompted calls for more prescription checks and balances.
