Sadasivam Mathivathanan (Mathy), a taxi driver in Tasmania took a fare to Geeveston.  On reaching the destination, the passenger not only defaulted payment, but also attacked Mathy.  Kulasegaram Sanchayan finds out more on what happened.

டஸ்மேனியா மாநிலத்தின் ஃகீவ்ஸ்டன் (Geeveston) என்ற இடத்திற்கு பயணி ஒருவரை எடுத்துச் சென்ற சதாசிவம் மதிவதனன் (மதி) என்ற வாடகை வாகன ஓட்டுநருக்குப் பணம் செலுத்தாமல் விட்டது மட்டுமல்லாமல், பயணியும் அவரது நண்பரும் தாக்கியதில் மதியின் கால் உடைந்துள்ளது.  நடந்தது என்ன என்று கண்டறிகிறார் குலசேகரம் சஞ்சயன்.

Former prime minister Malcolm Turnbull's preferred candidate has been preselected for the upcoming by-election in his vacated seat of Wentworth.

But the choice of former Australian ambassador to Israel David Sharma comes despite calls from Prime Minister Scott Morrison that it should be a female candidate.

A recent study by the University of South Australia's Centre for Workplace Excellence found that nearly one-third of mature-aged job seekers experience ageism in their attempts to find work.

And time required for those aged over 55 to get a job can take up to 68 weeks.
