Robert Mugabe finally bowed to pressure and stood down as president of Zimbabwe on Tuesday, ending his 37-year rule. He started his political career as a freedom fighter but  was seen as a brutal dictator. R.Sathyanathan explains the story of the rise and fall of Robert Mugabe.

A survey of Australian workers shows one in five people experience discrimination at work and it's worse for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

But for workplaces that do tackle discrimination, the Diversity Council of Australia's research shows they're being rewarded with better performances.

அண்மையில் நடத்தப்பட்ட ஒரு ஆய்வில், ஆஸ்திரேலிய தொழிலாளர்களில், ஐந்து பேரில் ஒருவர் வேலை இடத்தில் பாகுபாடு காட்டப்பட்டதாகக் கண்டறிந்துள்ளது.  மேலும் பூர்வீக மக்களை நோக்கினால், இந்தப் பாகுபாடு அவர்களிடத்தே மிக மோசமாக உள்ளது.

ஆனால் பாகுபாடு காட்டாமல் இயங்கும் வேலைத்தளங்கள் சிறப்பாக செயல்படுவதாகவும், அதனால் அந்த வேலைத்தளங்கள் அதன் பலனை அனுபவிப்பதாகவும் Diversity Council of Australia கண்டறிந்துள்ளது.

As at 24 November 2017 there were 13 Senators and federal MPs who were under constitutional question under Section 44 of the Constitution. Currently there will be at least two by-elections held due to federal MPs acknowledging they hold dual citizenship. Is it ok to continue facing by-elections or dissolve the parliament for a fresh election?

The three-week standoff at the former Manus detention centre has been broken after refugees inside reluctantly decided to leave amid accusations of violence against the men. Celebrated as Sollin Selvar (Word Connoisseur), R.P. Sethu Pillai (1896 – 1961) was the first Tamil to receive the Sahithya Academy Award (1955) from the Indian government. He was one of the highly respected Tamil scholars, who headed the Department of Tamil for over 25 years at the University of Madras, an epicentre of Tamil activists during those days. His illustrious publication record includes a number of books, essays and articles in both Tamil and English. Among his notable works is his biography of Bishop Robert Caldwell (1841 – 1891), who academically established the Dravidian family of languages. Dr Dhamu Pongiyannan presents this week’s Thamil Thadam on R.P Sethu Pillai. 

செந்தமிழுக்கு சேதுப்பிள்ளை என்று போற்றப்பட்ட ரா.பி.சேதுப்பிள்ளை அவர்கள் (1896 – 1961)ஒரு தமிழ் அறிஞர், எழுத்தாளர், வழக்குரைஞர், மேடைப்பேச்சாளர். இந்திய அரசு வழங்கும் சாகித்ய அகாதமி பரிசு (1955) பெற்ற முதல் தமிழர். இவர் ஏறக்குறைய 40-க்கும் மேற்பட்ட படைப்புகளை வெளியிட்டுள்ளார். தமிழ் மட்டுமல்லாது, திராவிட மொழி இலக்கியம், திராவிடப் பழமொழிகளின் முக்கியத்துவம் மற்றும் FRANCIS WHYTE ELLIS அவர்களின் திருக்குறள் உரை குறித்த புத்தககங்ளை ஆங்கிலத்திலும் எழுதியுள்ளார். ரா.பி.சேதுப்பிள்ளை குறித்த இவ்வார தமிழ்த்தடம் நிகழ்ச்சியை வழங்குகிறார், முனைவர் தாமு.
