The Atlanta Falcons are on the ropes this season at 1-6 and have multiple starting players on both offense and defense who are questionable for Sunday's game. Matt Ryan, who is second only to Phillip Rivers for consecutive NFL starts, could miss his first game after 154 straight starts. If he can't go, Matt Schaub would take over the starting role for Atlanta. Schaub has only started six games since the 2013 game with the Seahawks, when Richard Sherman's interception helped Seattle tie the game against the Texans and ultimately win in overtime. Schaub's record is 1-5 as a starter since that game, winning a Week 12 game for the Baltimore Ravens in Cleveland 33-27.
David Walker of the Falcoholic says that the pressure has been mounting over the previous weeks calling for the team to move on from former Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn. Walker predicted that the team could make the move with their bye week in Week 9 if the Falcons go into the break at 1-7. It could be that Seattle ends up being the team who both launches Quinn's head coaching career only to take it away.
