Sevonna Brown actively participates in the Maternal Health Think Tank, focusing on the intersection of intimate partner violence (IPV) and maternal health. She co-authored the influential Sexual Abuse to Maternal Mortality Pipeline Report (2019), which comprehensively examines the markers and effects of the sexual abuse to Maternal mortality pipeline. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Sevonna is a certified childbirth educator, empowering and educating expectant mothers. Her expertise, compassion, and unwavering dedication have made a lasting impact in the field of maternal healthcare, ensuring women receive the best possible care during childbirth.

As a passionate advocate for the rights and well-being of black women, Sevonna challenges societal norms and demands dignified care and respect for her community. She focuses on placing black women at the forefront of conversations and initiatives, recognizing that their liberation benefits everyone. With a deep spiritual connection, she values explicit communication and recognition. Despite challenges, she admires individuals who demonstrate adaptability and a strong ability to advocate for better care.
