TL;DR: Getting Naked with Tova Leigh - Motherhood & Body Confidence
Tova Leigh joins Dr. Jess to talk nudity, motherhood, and the radical act of reclaiming your body — unapologetically.
From naked spa days to pole dancing and body rolls, her journey isn’t about how she looks, it’s about how she feels.
You can be nurturing and kinky, exhausted and erotic. Motherhood doesn’t cancel your sexuality.
When she started questioning monogamy, it wasn’t because something was broken, it was because she got curious.
Whether you’re dancing in the kitchen or tucking in your shirt with confidence, sensual movement and tiny acts of self-permission matter.

Reclaiming Sexuality, Redefining Self
Motherhood often demands everything of you, your time, your body, your bandwidth. And for many, including writer, performer and unapologetic truth-teller Tova Leigh, it also swallows up your sense of self. In this open-hearted and laugh-out-loud episode, Tova joins Dr. Jess to talk about Effed at 40, nudity, pole dancing, and the power of saying “F-it” when society tells you to stay in your lane.
From reclaiming her sexuality through movement (including pole dancing) to confronting internalized shame about her body after three kids (two of whom are twins), Tova shares the deeply personal and universally resonant steps she took to feel sexy, seen, and whole again.
As Tova says, “The day I managed to hump the floor in body rolls was a happy day.” Her joy isn’t rooted in how she looked, but how she felt. And that’s a lesson for all of us.
Body Confidence, Naked Truths & Letting Go
After a series of surgeries, hormonal shifts, and social conditioning that told her to hide, Tova started showing up for herself, and eventually, showing more skin too. Her nude spa experience in Brighton marked a major shift: “In the nude, there’s nothing. You’re so vulnerable, you’re so open, you’re just you.”
Tova discussed how body image isn’t just about how we see ourselves, but how that vision affects our partners and the sex we have. When you hide your body, your partner feels it. When you judge yourself, it sends a message that judgment is the norm, for both of you.
If you’re ready to tune into your body with intention, consider starting with movement for pleasure and connection. Whether it’s a solo floor grind, dancing in your kitchen, or stripping down in safe company, sensual self-awareness can be radical. For extra support, you might explore toys that help you reconnect with your body in a playful way like the We-Vibe Touch or the Womanizer Duo...
