Your reproductive health is important.
I get it. When I had a miscarriage, I wanted to blame it on my deodorant or the dietary supplement I had taken for gut health. You want to keep your baby safe. IVF cycles were put on hold at the beginning of the pandemic. People who were planning pregnancy were now uncertain. Asymptomatic COVID positive patients were showing up in labor and we were uncertain how to handle mom and baby after birth.
This global pandemic has left many of us spinning - healthcare workers included. New data and guidelines changing almost daily. Just when we think we have a handle on it, another surge.
Today we are talking about what we do know and debunking myths.
Pregnancy outcomes among those vaccinated and the general population (expected % of pregnancy outcomes) do not differ.
There is NO clinically significant difference after vaccination in menstrual cycle length, ovarian hormone function, miscarriage rates or sperm count.
COVID-19 vaccination is recommended for people who are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to get pregnant now, or might become pregnant in the future.
Pregnant people and their babies should not die.
