It's been a minute (three weeks) but due to unforsmelled circumstances, we took a little-medium break. But now we're back on the very same bullshit that we are known and loved for: talking about smells we like. In this very casual catch-up chat, Tynan and Sable discuss new scents they like, new scents they would like to smell, and the beginnings of what is shaping up to be a Scentboi Summer™ (you heard it here first). That's pretty much it. This one bounces around quite a bit, which may cause listeners with pivoting sensitivies some minor anguish. As two moody people who love scents, we're always curious to know why and how scent affects our moods, for good and for evil. There is indeed a science to mood manipulation through scent, and who should be the maestros of such power as the perfumers of Givaudan. We have Stephen Nilsen on to tell us all about Givaudan's proprietary Moodscentz technology, and how scent has been studied to be able to change moods and behavior (nematodes are involved) way beyond the scope of essential oils and aromatherapy.

Sex sells, but you can't fuck a fragrance. You can, however, fuck a celebrity (if you're lucky or maybe try really hard), and combining the two has been the standard for how to sell a fragrance since forever probably. The spokespeople are however getting kookier and by way of more interesting choices... hotter? Now that it appears that clout and a certain It-ness of cultural relevancy garner more intrigue and more dollars, the people in our fragrance ads are perhaps less familiar but wholly more inclusive and interesting. Anyway, all that and such, but we shall be using this flimsy structure of a topic to go on about hot people in fragrance ads.
