Sean Landers is an artist based out of New York City. Born in 1962 in Palmer, Massachusetts, Sean received his B.F.A. from the Philadelphia College of Art in 1984, and his M.F.A. from the Yale University School of Art in 1986. Sean is represented by Friedrich Petzel Gallery in New York, China Art Objects in Los Angeles, greengrassi in London, Taka Ishii Gallery in Tokyo and Galerie Rodolphe Janssen in Brussels.
Sean’s work is represented in numerous museum and public collections including the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; the Brooklyn Museum of Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, Denver Art Museum, Seattle Art Museum, Tate Modern, London, Sammlung Hoffman, Berlin, and more.
Brian met up with Sean at his West Village studio and they talked about his days growing up in an artistic family, the value of humor, music, painting and much more.
