In this "Lessons" episode, Dr. Don Wood, creator of the TIPP Method, shares his approach to addressing trauma by focusing on its underlying causes rather than simply managing the symptoms. Drawing on neuroscience and his work with people experiencing anxiety, panic, and post-traumatic stress, he explains how unresolved experiences can keep the nervous system activated long after a threat has passed. Dr. Wood breaks down how education and nervous-system awareness can help reshape these responses, why accumulated trauma can make future adversity more difficult to handle, and how resolving past experiences can build greater resilience. He also explores how his TIPP Method differs from traditional talk therapy and why understanding how the mind processes trauma can create lasting emotional change.

Mike Curb founded Curb Records as a teenager in 1963 and has run it ever since — over 60 years and 435 number one records later, it's one of the last standing independent labels in an industry that's been consolidated down to just three companies: Universal, Sony, and Warner. A Grammy-winning producer and songwriter, he built the roster that launched Tim McGraw, LeAnn Rimes, and The Judds while racking up over 1,500 Top Ten records across country, pop, and Christian music. He simultaneously served as Lieutenant Governor of California under Jerry Brown, stepping in as Acting Governor whenever Brown left the state. Every major label has tried to buy Curb Records. He's turned them all down.
