Sue Becker shares about food cravings and gluttony. She answers the question of why we might have food cravings and then gives great ideas on how to satisfy them.
Proverbs 23:1-3 warns us about sitting down to dine at the king's table. The verses tell us to consider carefully what is before us - even to put a knife to our throats lest we be given to gluttony. It goes on to warn us that the king's dainties and delicacies are deceptive foods.
It wasn't until Sue started on her journey of real bread that she came to better understand what these verses might mean to her, personally, and to us in today's world.

While in the heartland of Israel, Sue and Brad Becker helped harvest grapes and plant trees alongside 25 other volunteers. Sue also shared, with a group at Hayovel, the nutritional benefits of real bread made from freshly-milled whole grains.
After recovering from being very sick for the first few days, Sue was able to share the history of white flour and the common diseases that soon followed that are directly related to commercial flour. She made bread and muffins with the kitchen staff of Hayovel, and the staff immediately embraced making all bread from the freshly-milled grain.

Then, other things ended up getting in the way - leaving little to no time for doing the very thing that was giving their bodies the nourishment it needed. People often remark that they cannot eat bread or at least have to limit their consumption of bread because they have diabetes or issues related to elevated blood sugar. We have been lead to think that diabetics must avoid carbohydrates. But do they really?
Today, Sue Becker shares how fiber - found particularly in real whole grains - can greatly influence the management of blood sugar levels and help us maintain the perfect balance between high and low insulin levels in our blood.
