Emily Knox's "It's the Bread" Story is sure to grab your attention just as her heart's cry grabbed God's attention only a few, short months ago. During this interview, she is gracious to share her journaled prayer of hopeful blessings with us, and we are confident that it will bless you as well.
Emily's story also reminds us that God's love and compassion for us never fail, as He stands true to His word to work "all things together for the good to those who love Him." Romans 8:28

We've heard a lot of It's the Bread Stories, but none, so far, have been like Maren Latham's. Her story is unique, and her resolve is strong!
Sue Becker met Maren through an email conversation when, in desperation, Maren reached out to Bread Beckers inquiring about certain symptoms she was immediately experiencing. These symptoms began just after starting to eating bread made from freshly-milled grain, and after a few correspondences, Sue and Maren both determined that Maren may have been experiencing a detox.

Knowing the best type of grain to use when converting your favorite recipe from refined, white flour to freshly-milled flour can sometimes be confusing and overwhelming.
In this episode, Sue Becker reveals the 6 basic classifications of wheat. These classifications are what makes wheat either hard or soft. This also determines the character of the flour and how it will perform in a recipe. Sue also reveals the basic measurements and ingredients for turning freshly-milled flour into self-rising flour, along with the equivalent to the more popular baking mix sold in grocery stores today.

Sue Becker had the recent pleasure of talking with Chelsea Blackbird, The Christian Nutritionist, and with Chelsea's permission, we are also sharing their conversation with you today.
Chelsea's story is sure to resonate with many, as over the years, she began to question the anti-bread and anti-grain teachings that give contradiction to God's Word. This is when she was introduced to Bread Beckers, where she began to listen to Sue's teachings that lead to her to gaining a whole, new understanding of the unique health benefits of real, whole grains. Then, after 10 years of being gluten-free, Chelsea decided to make a radical change and introduce real bread, made from freshly ground flour, into her diet.
Be sure to tune back in next week as we continue with Part 2 of their conversation.

When Sue Becker speaks about whole-grains, she is including all foods that are the seed of the plant as well as the fruit of the plant, which of course, would include both grains and beans.
Beans are one of the most versatile and commonly eaten foods throughout the world. In fact for many people groups, beans and rice are a staple food if not one of the only foods readily available for them.
Dry beans are also seeds that are considered a very nutrient rich food. Beans are a truly nutrient dense food group and contain only a moderate amount of calories. And, because of their high concentration of health promoting nutrients, consuming more beans has been shown to improve over all health.

We, at Bread Beckers, love to hear stories of improved health - especially from those who have begun to mill their own grain and make their own bread.
Darrell Bice definitely has a story that may sound very familiar to some. He was suffering from many stomach issues that left doctors baffled and confused. These symptoms prohibited him from living a normal life, which included not being able to travel far from home and always needing to know the location of the nearest restroom.
We know that you will be just as blessed and encouraged by his story as we are!

In this episode of Sue's Healthy Minutes, Sue Becker introduces us to another little seed that we will want to include in our whole foods menu - Buckwheat. But, in spite of its name, buckwheat is not related to wheat at all, nor is it even a grain.
Buckwheat, however, can be used in similar ways to grains. It can be milled into flour, boiled whole and eaten, and even enjoyed raw to add a little crunch to salads or granola.
Buckwheat flour is also an excellent choice for making pancakes, muffins, and crepes. Crepes made with buckwheat flour are less delicate, and this allows them to work very well when used as wraps and tortillas.
