We are excited to welcome Olympian Carrie Tollefson to the show! Carrie competed in the 1500 at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and has been a big influence in the running world for a long time. Carrie is the host of her podcast, C Tolle Run (subscribe to her show!) and has worked on-camera with major networks. She does regular media coverage for the New York Road Runners including the TCS NYC Marathon and the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon. Carrie has done commentary for the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon, Boston Marathon, Tokyo Marathon and Foot Locker Nationals.
Carrie has been on the cover of Runner's World five times and is the host of her summer running camp for kids. Carrie is also mom to her own three awesome kids and wife to architect and stud athlete Charlie.
In this conversation, we chat with Carrie about her running and broadcasting career, including the fact that she ran a very fast 2:51 just over a year ago and wants to run more marathons! Charlie is a 12 time marathoner (including a 6 star world marathon finisher), Registered Dietitian, and author of her extremely popular, award winning blog "The Runner Beans."  She is also the author of her new cookbook, "Cook, Eat, Run" and the host of her podcast also entitled Cook, Eat, Run. Charlie is such a lovely person and we were hanging onto every word she said in this fun and engaging conversation about discovering the hidden gems in London. This week, we are excited to welcome our good friend, 29 time marathoner, Jen Enge to the show! We've been friends with Jen for the past 15 years and we actually didn't meet through running - we met through a mutual friend (shout out to Ellie!) and the rest is history.  Jen is an incredible athlete that ran a big PR last year at CIM in a blazing time of 2:51:58! You can see in the picture we posted that she is pushing with everything she had to run under 2:52 (she told me she didn't have time to smile, she was working her butt off).  Jen started out as a swimmer, swimming competitively for Northwestern, then went on earn her MBA from Harvard University and moved to Portland to work for Nike for 4 years. Jen has also raced an Ironman in under 11 hours and lives a fun filled life in beautiful Mercer Island, WA with her husband Craig and their four terrific kids!
In this episode we chat with Jen about her amazing running journey, including how she didn't began racing marathons competitively until the age of 41, her pure love for the sport, Jen and Nat's plan to run her 30th marathon together, how social media has made her faster and so much more. This week we travel across the pond to London and are so happy to welcome Marcus Brown to the podcast! Marcus (best known on Instagram as The Marathon Marcus) is a marathoner who began running in 2006 and has since whittled down his time from 4:55 to a very fast 2:56.
