Talk Dirt to Me

We begin by updating everyone on the latest with the Cattleman's bill that we've been discussing, and how the NCBA essentially failed us. Next we jump into two listener questions we had. First being, supplementing cattle when feeding marginal to lower quality hay. We discuss some of the different feeding regimens there, and will most likely really explore this in a later episode. Secondly, we dive into some basic pasture management. How do you control the thorn trees, what kind of sprayer to use, how many tanks will you be looking at?? Lots covered on that. Thank y'all for tuning in and we ask that you please leave us a rating/review. Also submit your questions please!

We prepare for the incoming ice storm about to hit our area and talk about how we feel bad for the cows. We discuss more on the latest news with the bill going around to help in the fight against the monopoly meat packers. Why we essentially got betrayed by one group, and why another might vote for it but only to save face. Then we had a listener question that we both explore. We really appreciate all questions, and ask that you submit any you have for us! You can go on the website under the contact section and submit your questions there. Thank you for tuning in and please leave us a rating/review!

We welcome our first guest to the podcast. Our good friend Lee Dixon joins us to discuss his whitetail consulting business. It very much links in with his past as a farmer and learning how to manage the land. He shares his history of soil science, growing big bucks, and his strategies for killing mature bucks. He shares some great tidbits of wisdom on how he goes about killing these bucks, the benefits of timbering the property and so forth. Give them a call and schedule your consult with Lee to take your property to the next level!

Also some of the basic ways to set up your marketing strategy, and the volatility of the markets. "You will never go broke selling at a profit." That sounds simple but a lot of people overlook it.
