Taking you back to 3/25/2008 -  Featuring someone many of you, nowadays, have never heard of…but back in the old “forum days” of BBQ and Grilling …this guy was prolific on all the best (and worst) forums available on the internet…his name is Chris Finney…or in many cases…he just went by “Finney”. I’ve known Chris for nearly 20 years…in fact, when I trace back to my beginnings of BBQ…not the show…just getting into the cooking portion…Chris Finney is one of the core group of guys I still know to this day. You know who else is in that group…believe it or not…Diva Q!!
Anyway, one of the most popular ways to cook a steak or roast…especially thick ones…is the reverse sear…and in this segment…Chris Finney lays claim to inventing this way of cooking steaks back in early 2008!! He gives his background in cooking, talks about books he’s read on cooking…and then tell you how he came up with this method…
Jon actually asks everyone at the end of the show “Do you think this guy is the one that invented it”...and I’ll ask it differently. When you hear the show Friday…is there any reason we shouldn’t believe that Chris Finney is the rightful inventor of “The reverse sear” aka…the Finney Method?
