The Big Boo Cast

Well, it's our 300th episode - and our 15th podcast-i-versary - and Melanie and I are thrilled about both of these things. WHO WOULD HAVE EVER THOUGHT. So, as you can imagine, we do a little reminiscing on this episode, but we also do a lot of talking about the here and now. That is because this is the week that Alex moves to college, and we have a lot to break down about that.

As always we recap our weekends, and it's my turn for Five Favorites.

Hope y'all enjoy!

This week Melanie and I kick off the episode with a recap of My Weekend with Martha (maybe that should be trademarked), which was super fun (you can imagine! can't you just imagine?!), and we talk about this new season of life where our kids aren't around very much. This basically makes us feel like we're dating the people we've been married to for 25 years.

Also, Melanie fills us in on a movie she loved, we both have rave reviews for a TV show we adore, and we break down the AP college football poll that came out this week (spoiler alert: Melanie continues to give Notre Dame the side-eye). As always, we wrap up with Five Favorites - it's Melanie's turn this week.

And just a reminder: next week is our 300th episode and our 15th podcast-i-versary. We have some fun giveaways planned - because we want to be sure to celebrate the milestones! :-)

Hope y'all enjoy episode 299!

This week Melanie recaps the time she spent decorating Caroline's apartment this past weekend, and I lament an unexpected change with my email. We also discuss the surprising cost of Command hooks, a new season of one of our favorite shows, and the preseason Top 25 Coaches' Poll.

On top of all that, we marvel that our brains have held onto all the Olivia Newton-John lyrics from our childhood, and it's my turn for Five Favorites.

Since our last episode Melanie and Perry have moved Caroline into her new place in College Station, and I have been all manner of productive rounding up things for Alex's dorm room. Apparently both of us have been feeling our feelings about this particular transition, so we dig into that a little bit.

We also talk about Bama Rush Tok (will it be a thing this year? WE HOPE SO), what we're watching, and a book I've been loving. Plus, it's Melanie's turn for Five Favorites.

Enjoy, y'all!

We're back home after spending most of last week in Atlanta, and apparently we both have a lot of thoughts about how air travel could be more courteous and efficient (please keep in mind that I didn't actually fly to Atlanta, but that doesn't stop me from having an opinion). We also share our latest thoughts about moisturizers, eye shadows, and whether or not nutmeg belongs in a fruit cobbler.

On top of that, we talk about how we're wrapping up summer with the college-aged people in our lives, and it's my turn for Five Favorites.

Hope y'all enjoy!

We recorded this episode from Day One of SEC Football Media Days earlier this week, and man oh man are we ever living our best lives. Obviously we talk about media days (day one, at least), and we discuss the obnoxious amount of clothes we packed for our time in Atlanta. We trust you would expect no less.

You'll also hear Melanie's shock / surprise / disappointment when she learns about another movie I've never seen, and we break down how we respond to conflict (here's a hint: WE DON'T LOVE IT). Plus, it's Melanie's turn this week for Five Favorites.

Enjoy, y'all!

It's been a slow week since we last recorded, but that didn't stop us from digging into all sorts of exciting topics on this episode: picture frames, herbs, weather, and so many other things that pretty much scream WE ARE VERY BORING.

Fortunately we've watched a good bit of TV, so we break that down, and it's Melanie's turn for Five Favorites.

Hope y'all enjoy!

This week we recap the end of the College World Series, and Melanie tells us all about how she and Caroline spent time in The Nature during their inaugural trip to the Great Smoky Mountains. Melanie's feet continue to recover.

We also break down an unusually busy week on the Hudson front, Melanie offers her two cents on Arch Manning's college football commitment, and it's my turn for Five Favorites.

Enjoy, y'all!

We're still in the thick of the College World Series, so you know we're gonna get into all of our feelings about college baseball this week (not to mention the Aggies' match-up against the Longhorns). We also do a little recapping of our weekends, and we discuss whether or not it's possible to cover all the important topics / life skills with college kids before they leave home.

On top of all that, we break down my current situation with my hair, and it's Melanie's turn for Five Favorites.

Enjoy, y'all!
