A life-changing group coaching program is dynamic, transformational, and goes genuinely deep…and creating one doesn't just change the lives of those you serve, it changes your life too. It's also what allows you to stand out and create the kind of results that lead to more clients completing, and raving about, your programs.
There's no shortage of courses to buy in the transformational industries, and a lot of them are okay, maybe even good, but not life-changing. They don't co-create excellent results with participants. They don't create experiences people remember for years. They don't keep participants engaged.
In today's episode, we get to the heart of what separates a good group course, program, workshop, or retreat from a truly life-changing one.

As part of our month-long focus on the Ethics of Leadership, we take a look today at the challenges and importance of admitting our mistakes as leaders.
In order to be not only ethical and trauma-informed in our client work, but also highly effective and transformational coaches and practitioners, it is essential to be able to own up to our mistakes.
We need this on all levels of leadership!
In the episode, we cover:
⇒ what happens in our communities and with our clients when we don't own our mistakes
⇒ a story about a crucial moment where I made a huge mistake…and what I did…and what happened next (the most important part!)
⇒ what lies underneath the difficulties of owning mistakes and how to move forward
This episode is short but a really important toe-dip into one of the most important topics of coaching and leadership.

Ethics and integrity are foundational to exceptional coaching, and they're also two of the most underaddressed topics in the coaching and transformational industries. You cannot build a practice that creates lasting client results, genuine referrals, and a sustainable reputation without them. And yet most practitioner trainings barely scratch the surface.
This episode is part of a full month we're devoting to the ethics of leadership at Applied Depth Institute, and it's one I feel strongly about. In it, I share a personal story that gets to the heart of what can go wrong — for clients, for practitioners, and for the integrity of the work itself — when ethical grounding is absent.
Even if you consider yourself a person of deep integrity (as most practitioners listening to this do), this episode will challenge and expand your understanding of what ethical practice actually looks like in action.

As coaches and transformational practitioners, we are always holding what our clients are holding. And right now — with ongoing global conflict, climate disasters, relentless news cycles, and so much collective uncertainty — that is a lot.
Sustained difficulty takes its toll. It doesn't matter how evolved we are, how strong our mindset is, or how much inner work we've done. When the world is heavy, our clients feel it, we feel it, and our sessions need to be able to hold it.
This episode is about exactly that: how to show up for your clients with exceptional skill and care during difficult times…and how to take care of yourself in the process.

What happens when we start to over-identify with success, status, and the outer symbols of who we've become? And how does that clinging (subtle as it often is) end up blocking us from the very transformation we most need?
That's the territory we explore in this episode, through one of the oldest and most powerful myths ever told: the Myth of Inanna's Descent. It's one of my all-time favorites, and one I return to personally every single year — because it never stops being relevant.
This is a rich, layered episode: part storytelling, part introspection, part practical application for your client work. There may also be a public service announcement or two from me. I get passionate about some things.

"Joanna, what does your typical work day look like…and how do you get so much done?" It's one of the questions I get asked most often, and the answer is good enough that I had to turn it into a full episode.
Getting a lot done in a day doesn't happen by accident in my world. I have specific systems, practices, and a particular approach to how I structure my time. And in this episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on all of it. This is the kind of practical, inside-look content I love sharing, because strong productivity habits aren't just good for your own business, they're also incredibly useful when your clients need support getting more done in theirs.

What do you do when a client wants to be friends? It happens more than most practitioners talk about: you're doing great work together, your authentic personality is showing up fully in sessions, and then one day your client says: "I feel like we have so much in common. Do you want to grab coffee?"
It's a moment that can feel awkward, flattering, confusing, and ethically murky all at once. Is it okay to say yes? Is it wrong to say no? How do you navigate this without making things weird or damaging the coaching relationship?
This episode gives you a clear, grounded framework for handling exactly this situation — so you can respond with confidence, integrity, and care. Because this isn't just about friendship. It's about the coaching container itself: keeping it clean, trustworthy, empowering, and effective for your client.

Consistent coaching income doesn't have to come from expensive ads, complicated funnels, or massive social media followings. In this episode, I pull back the curtain on the three strategies that generate at least 80% of my own revenue (and have for years) and they are far simpler, cheaper, and more sustainable than most of what the marketing world is selling you.
I call them the 3 Rs: Renewals, Referrals, and Reputation. They are old-school, deeply effective, and available to you whether you're just starting out or have been in business for decades. And the beautiful thing about all three? They are built directly on the quality of your client work. The better you are at co-creating results, the more naturally these three income streams flow.
This is one of those episodes where I share real numbers from my own business, specific research that backs up why these strategies work, and concrete steps for how to start building all three in yours.

There are things no one teaches you in coach training — truths that only reveal themselves through years of working with real clients and doing your own deep inner work. In this episode, I'm sharing four of them: the ones I learned the hard way, and wish someone had handed to me at the start.
These aren't tips or tactics. They are paradigm shifts; the kind that change how you listen, how you show up, how you hold space, and ultimately how effective you become as a transformational practitioner. Whatever stage of your coaching journey you're in, there's something here for you.

The fear of being seen — also known as the fear of visibility — is one of the most common fears coaches and transformational practitioners carry. And it's also one of the most quietly costly, because it shows up not as a dramatic block but as a subtle, persistent resistance to putting yourself out there fully.
The newsletter that doesn't get sent. The outreach that keeps getting delayed. The offer you haven't quite launched yet. The social post you drafted and then deleted. Often underneath all of it is the fear of being seen.
In this episode, we go directly into it, both so that you can do your own work with this fear and step more fully into your visibility, and so that you can support the clients in your practice who are navigating the exact same thing.
I share a personal story about my very first headshots and how I was self-sabotaging in ways I didn't even fully recognize at the time. It's one of those stories that's equal parts cringeworthy and instructive… and I hope it helps you feel less alone in your own version of this.
