This week on No Filter, we’re proud to welcome back Narelda Jacobs as our guest host.
In October 2022, hundreds of people were gathering across the country to attend vigils for Cassius Turvey, the 15-year-old Noongar Yamatji boy who was tragically murdered last year. Along with Cassius’ mother, the woman who organised those vigils across the country was Megan Krakouer.
Megan is the director of the National Suicide Prevention & Trauma Recovery Project. She is also the first person to answer the phone and show up in her community when a First Nations individual needs help or support, 24 hours a day.
On this episode of No Filter, Megan and Narelda have a frank conversation about how Australia is experiencing another stolen generation.
Please note that this conversation contains mentions of suicide. Please call Lifeline on 13 11 14 if you need support.
THE END BITS:
With thanks to Megan Krakouer. Click here to support the National Suicide Prevention and Trauma Recovery Project's GoFundMe.
