For the high level narcissist the world is his/her oyster; he/she commands his professional and personal domains like a medieval knight.

Quoting from my book Freeing Yourself From the Narcissist in Your Life describes the high level narcissist's internal psychological state:

"The narcissist is never at peace. Quiet and contentment evade him. .He leads a life of restless, compulsive activity...Beneath the restlessness lies chronic boredom. He marches relentlessly forward doing his special life's work---demonstrating how wonderful he is. 

Hour by hour and minute by minute, the narcissist weeks ways to stave off his emotional thirst. Inside, his well is always dry. He must constantly turn to the external environment to get the life sustaining water that he needs to survive---praise. recognition, sexual conquests, power. 

The psychologicallandscape fo the narcissist is bleak...He cannot turn to himself or others for real affection or solace. 

To fill the void and emptiness, high level narcissists indulge themselves extravagantly."

At some point you recognize the true nature of the high level narcissist and that you are not able to fulfill your true self within this non relationship. 

You take the step forward with self care each day: sleep and rest of quality, good nutrition, hydration, movement and exercise, Nature, beauty, use of your many creative gifts. I give you so much credit for moving forward along your own unique pathway.
