John McNesby, President of FOP Lodge 5, Philadelphia’s police union, rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to update the audience on the status of an off-duty police officer who was shot after honking his horn at a person who had double parked. McNesby tells that the officer was able to heroically drive himself to Temple University hospital, and started providing details of the incident during a time many would be paralyzed by shock. Then, Giordano asks McNesby for his thoughts on the rampant crime in Philadelphia, asking him for his underlying causes behind the situation, which McNesby, similarly to McSwain, chalks up to a lack of accountability wrought on by progressive policies pushed by Mayor Kenney and DA Krasner.

Then, Beth Ann Rosica, executive director of Back to School PA, Clarice Schillinger’s group, rejoins the Dom Giordano Program for some concerning news out of Montgomery County. Rosica announces that it has come to the group’s attention that Montgomery County is teetering on the decision to close in-person education and instead revert to virtual learning due to positive cases in schools. Beth tells Giordano about how the group uncovered this consideration, and explains whether this is a county-wide issue or just one particular school district. Then, Rosica tells what parents could do in an effort to prevent schools from closing up again, calling on parents to contact commissioners and administrators to make it clear that this option should not be considered. Dr. Mehmet Oz, a long stay in everybody’s living rooms, has officially thrown his hat into the ring for the upcoming Senate race for Senator Pat Toomey’s vacated seat, and joins the Dom Giordano Program. First, Giordano asks for Dr. Oz’s mission statement, wondering why he’s chosen to depart from his incredibly successful television career to enter the world of politics. Dr. Oz explains that he’s getting involved because we have a country in crisis, and sees deep seated issues particularly with Coronavirus and China. Then, Giordano presses Dr. Oz on the residency issue that’s become the number one talking point around Dr. Oz’s run, asking him whether he still resides in New Jersey and whether he should be considered eligible for the run. Today, Dom Giordano lead off the Dom Giordano program by first previewing tonight’s special centered around his nominees for Local Person of the Year, then quickly shifts into a conversation about the high crime in and around Philadelphia. First, Dom reveals developing details around the murder of another Temple student, a topic that took over much of yesterday’s show, telling that the alleged perpetrator has turned himself in. Giordano plays back clips from Mayor Kenney, who blamed the rising violence after the shooting of an off-duty officer on gun shows such as the monthly event over in Oaks, PA.

Then, Bill McSwain, former United States attorney and Pennsylvania gubernatorial candidate, rejoins the Dom Giordano Program for a wide-ranging conversation covering multiple topics. First, Giordano asks McSwain for his thoughts on Mayor Kenney’s new angle in pushing back against the rampant crime, blaming gun shows and asking for federal help in controlling guns, rather than looking within at the policies enacted by his administration. Dr. Marty Makary, a trailblazer on all things Coronavirus, joins Dom Giordano to lead off the third hour of the Dom Giordano Program. First, Giordano asks Dr. Makary for his thoughts on Dr. Anthony Fauci’s comments over the weekend, in which proclaimed, “I am science.” Makary tells why uttering such a phrase is detrimental to the cause, and offers evidence that Dr. Fauci is not “science,” but instead a scientific mind that also has faults. Makary offers his thoughts about the new variant, Omicron, that first showed in South Africa, explaining that it’s incredibly contagious but thankfully, it’s currently only showing mild symptoms. Then, Giordano asks Makary for an update on natural and herd immunity, a portion of the pandemic that seems to have fallen out of the debate, asking whether we will or have reached what was initially the end goal for the pandemic.

Then, after Dom offers his Money Melody for the day, he moves back into the national sphere of politics, playing back Jim Cramer on his CNBC show suggesting that the military should take over and run a national vaccine mandate. Ralph Cipriano, owner of BigTrial.net, joins Dom to lead off the Dom Giordano Program’s second hour, to discuss an expose concerning a murder on Temple’s campus over the long weekend. Cipriano uncovered that the alleged assailant, Latif Williams, was a repeat offender, last arrested on August 14th and charged with 8 crimes. In his BigTrial.net piece, Cipriano writes that, after having his bail reduced, DA Larry Krasner filed no appeal, essentially allowing Williams to become a free man and granting him the ability to commit this murder. Ralph and Dom discuss the underlying causes of the rise in violence, and reason how we as a city can pull ourselves out of the situation in which we currently find ourselves.

Today, Dom Giordano leads off the Dom Show by discussing revelations surrounding the suspect in the murder of a 21-year old Temple University student over the long holiday weekend. According to Ralph Cipriano of BigTrial.net, suspect Latif Williams was arrested on August 14th and charged with 8 crimes. Allegedly, after having bail set at $200,000, a municipal court judge lowered the bail for Williams to an unsecured $200,000, meaning that the culprit would not have to pay to stay out of jail. DA Larry Krasner filed no appeal, and because of this, Williams was a free man able to commit such a heinous crime. Giordano ties it to other crimes in Philadelphia, and notes that this is just one example of the horrible policies of the Krasner administration biting the citizens of Philadelphia again.

Then, Giordano brings the discussion to a national scope, discussing the potential nominees for a presidential run in 2024 after Vice President Harris and President Biden’s approval rating continue to plummet.
