A few years ago, I was talked into implementing a flat rate commission at my salon. At first it seemed like a great idea, but after a while my new stylists couldn't keep up & my experienced stylists plateaued.

That's when I realized that sliding scales work. This structure allows you to keep a healthy profit margin, even when you have stylists who are just starting out.
