Grain markets took a dive on a Monday, wheat took a tech led trade, rainfall & heat being talked about. Different stages of crop growth being recognized by the markets. Cash cattle is higher, while hogs try to come back into the positive.

Higher grains, WASDE report of Thursday. Weather moves back to the front burner. Delta south flooding, tropical storm coming into the Gulf, heat in the Midwest, all factors being tossed into the market trade for a Friday. Roller coaster livestock market.

Higher grains for a Wednesday anticipation of tomorrow’s report, change in the weather models, soybeans have started lead the grains, soon weather will be the dominate factor. June 28th report was a “throw away report” is the next on the same way? Do we need to move past to get to the August report. ASF-pegging lost production at 45%, bottom line there as been a flood of information coming out on how bad it is. Spreading unchecked & out of control. Cattle saw some lower trade for August feeders, but small gains for everyone else. Fats had some struggles.

Cattle had first day of goldman roll, Brad being bullish cattle. Higher cash is possible this week. Could see tighten supplies…in part winter struggles still hanging on. Boxed beef could break a bit. Hogs are impossible, back to levels that are below with ASF begin. Not selling any less. Hogs in Europe at record highs. Long summer of arguments, algo rhythms traders out of touch with country. Latest is Chief Economist told Bloomberg last weeks numbers into WASDE So what does that mean to the grain markets. Acres vs. yield & August 12th. Risk exposures & develop a plan. Late pollination 10 days late here, east much later. Crude oil is lower. Finally getting past the crop report. Crop progress report wasn’t a lot in showing, Nebraska/Iowa the garden growing areas. Quieter on the live cattle. Feeders reacting to corn how will cash be influenced. Hogs need to get pushed through with not a lot of demand Maybe a grill or two will be fired up.

Trade is stuck trying to digest the USDA report of Friday. Exports haven’t been great & weather has been bearish. Feed usage side guys need to take advantage of this break. On the fat cattle side we might have a low. Hog market almost limit up-are the positive about China?
