Ladies n' Genmin - please welcome to the "Clearing" today if you will - the warm, wonderful and wise Andy Day: A story of a man who once forgot his own trousers - and then commandeered some more!  (We've all done it - and indeed I was there when he did it!)

Featuring the lovely stories of "the history of a family chair" and how to use an an awareness of "crocodiles and hippos" in handling our interpersonal relationships - particularly when there is conflict afoot!

Charlie Schroeder "facilitator, coach, storyteller, actor, author and radio guy" takes us through his adventurous, and quirky history - from growing up in an Amish log cabin in Lancaster, Pennsylvania - to becoming a talented author, historical re-enactor and an accomplished actor - including several appearances in acclaimed US TV series "Suits".  

Charlie is also an actor "Jason Bateman doppelgänger" (see Ozark series) and he also - what are the chances? - has a beautiful U.S model name-sake! (But let's just say she definitely isn't the Charlie that I know!)

Charlie's book is "My Adventures in the World of Historical Re-enactment" told from an immersive journalistic perspective and published in 2012.

My great friend and business partner (in Second Curve) is Tom Cassidy. I also have the great pleasure of working alongside Tom at Working Voices, which is where we first met 10 years ago this year.

Ladies and Gentlemen I give you: "The Prologue"!

The place - the launchpad - from which the story commences - the tone is set - and from whence all that follows - follows!

There is also now a brand new "The Good Listening To" Facebook Group too!

So here is the backstory about how the "What You Need is a Good Listening To" Podcast (then quickly shortened to the "Good Listening To" Podcast with me Chris Grimes) came about!

So called because "giving you a good listening to" is - after all - what Coaching is all about!

In the beginning, the podcast landscape consisted, to my knowledge, mostly of Louis Theroux and his fantastic podcast series, "Grounded", which he recorded during lockdown.

Then, on the First Day,  I drank slightly too much red wine and the "Good Listening To" podcast came into existence!

"A GLT with me CG!" (see what I'm doing there?!) is my new Podcast series with a strong storytelling imperative - and with the simple aim of inviting my guests to a space called "The Clearing", where we get to "shake their tree - hear their story - and amplify their brand": 

"Who are you - and what's the story that you tell?"

With some nice juicy storytelling archetypes and metaphors to also enjoy along the way: The Clearing itself - a Tree - a lovely storytelling exercise called "5-4-3-2-1" - some Alchemy - Some Gold - and a Cake with a cherry on top!

What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given? What is your favourite inspirational quote? When you are truly "in flow" and "at purpose" what is the Alchemy and the Gold that you like to bring?

So - welcome aboard!
